Like Tim Tebow and Robert Griffin III before him, Colin Kaepernick is attempting to capitalize off his likeness.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the 49ers’ dynamic quarterback has filed the necessary paperwork to trademark the term “Kaepernicking.”
Though not yet finalized, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is going through the proper motions.
While “Tebowing” and “Griffining” have all but died out, “Kaepernicking” is just getting started. The term was born following his record-setting playoff win over the Packers, when the second-year signal-caller cemented himself into internet lore with a single kiss of his bicep.
This fad, like all the others, will eventually come to an end. But not anytime soon. As of now, the limelight belongs to Kaepernick.

I have no problem with this. He is just being smart. (business wise) After all he did major in business. Plus this will keep all the copy cat away from trying to make money off of him. All the money he makes from this will go to charity to help people with heart defect. Kap’s parents lost two children due to heart defect. This is a good cause and we should all support Kap. Beside who wouldn’t want to wear a shirt that say “Kaepernicking” and kiss their bicep. Go Kap!
