Earlier this month, new Jaguars general manager David Caldwell made it clear that he isn’t interested in acquiring hometown legend Tim Tebow.

That sentiment is resonating throughout the organization.

On Saturday, TMZ caught up with Jags tight end Marcedes Lewis, who’s looking to avoid Tebowmania at all costs. When asked if he wants Tebow on the team, Lewis answered honestly: “No.”

“I’m going into my eighth year, I’ve had about four or five different quarterbacks,” Lewis said. “Obviously, in the state we were in last year, we need a guy that’s going to put us over the hump right now. Not a project.”

Jacksonville won just two games in 2012, and Lewis is a talented player on an otherwise talentless offense, especially at the QB position.

Even so, Tebow doesn’t appear to be the answer.

“Not taking anything away from Tebow,” Lewis added. “But we need a pure quarterback.”

The search continues.

Man, even the Jags do not want this guy. Looks like the Euro League. Oops, forgot, that league is out of business.

i hope Tebow goes somewhere and the team goes right into the playoffs and beats these faithless losers to at least the NFC or AFC final and maybe even SuperBowl. All these haters its a total sham…I believe someday he will win and this only gives a guy reason to improve and a fire and desire to be a winner again. Cannot believe how many listen to the bogus media reports and the politics that control your thoughts on an obvious tough and talented guy, you got a bunch of “ok” and “so-so” back ups and teams like the Jags that need more than getting over a “hump” (what does that mean? becoming 6-10 or something?) – its no wonder so many voted for this administration in politics too, the power of suggestion . Tebow is fine and entertaining and hard worker and very good to say the least,, get over it and let him play. Cant wait to be see how everyone changes their tune down the road when he is the real deal- or everyone persecutes him to death- either way I know he hopes not in your man made opinions…
