Randy Moss reportedly done in San Fran; end of the line?

While there’s little doubt where Randy Moss will ultimately end up, his short-term plans aren’t as concrete.

A source tells ProFootballTalk.com that the 49ers are planning to “steer clear” of Moss, making it clear that the future Hall of Fame receiver won’t be back in a San Francisco uniform next season.

It’s not too surprising.

Moss posted less than pedestrian numbers (28 receptions) during his time with the Niners in 2012. Despite the team’s lack of healthy wideouts, Moss never appeared to be an integral part of the plans.

Surprisingly, Moss didn’t make a stink in regard to his usage — or lack thereof — but, according to PFT, “he didn’t like his role.”

Where the 36-year goes from here is anyone’s guess. There aren’t many teams who will be lining up to sign a fading receiver who’s completely lost his once-heralded separation ability.

Moss could (and likely will) continue playing in hopes of capturing that much-elusive Super Bowl ring, which would cap off a stellar career. However, there’s always the possibility that Moss realizes his time is up and bows out gracefully. Not a big possibility, but a possibility nonetheless.

We’ll be sure to keep tabs on his situation throughout the offseason.

Randy is one of the best talents that the league has seen in the last 20 to 40 years. He would be and Allstar in the NBA. I wish he could have got two or three rings to cement him as the best athlete playing wide receiver in league history. Knock him for his off field but, the numbers don’t lie. Randy Moss usher in a new generation of not just wide receiver but offenses. All off the 5000 yd qbs from last year benefited from the Moss effect. I hope he wins a championship, and I hope it’s with Carolina. Randy your services are still of use to some good teams like, Carolina and ugh, Dallas, as long as you bring your A game to the field and more importantly practice.

  • Randy Moss is one of the best in the game who ever takes him this year will only ad to the team. I Truely think it should be the DALLAS COWBOYS not a fan just see who can benifet by useing him……….!

See? Randy Moss is haunting your dreams? I do not care what you say “VikingFanMN”… people always have something to say ! “He’s a troublemaker..” “He gets into trouble ” when he’s dominate as hell.. Then he went to New England, did nothing wrong, helped them break the scoring record he set with Vikings.. then he said he felt unappreciated and they traded him back to us, then a little goat named Brad Childress didn’t like the fact that Moss wanted him fired, because he doesn’t compete, he’s dumb, he lies etc.(and he took a knee before half time when there was time.. remember who took a knee before overtime… Randall Cunningham during the Falcons’ game). What has Moss ever done to you? He made old qb’s look good, he made Culpepper look good… he gave Brady his best season? What has he really done wrong? He got depressed after the Vikings never got as good as 1998.. Terrible, how dare he get depressed, need change,.. Conservative playcallers.. Culpepper the fumbler, doesnt survey the whole field… Heck, it made us all depressed in 1998. That was a huge downward crash. But some of you short-attention spanned weak excuses for human beings don’t remember 1998. Moss created euphoria, and he was barely trying. What happens? A conservative coach takes a knee. His offensive coordinator leaves. Cunningham leaves bc he’s old. The magic disappears. But he still dominates his position, breaks every record for 6 years in the league. Oh, but he was a bad boy.. Not really. Oh, now he’s old. You’re assuming that.. he played at a high level just a few years ago with New England. He wasn’t near the end. People assumed that. Tennesse barely passed him the ball. The 49ers didn’t use him consistently either. The NFL ‘s pretty hard, last time I checked. So, have you got reason to hate? Any points I fail to make? I do n’t have a short attention span, neither does Randy Moss. People are scared of him and can’t handle him? He’s not a joke. He could’ve been an Olympic sprinter, he could’ve been an NBA star, or MLB.. But he stayed in the NFL, broke records, people try to label him “bad boy” and then try to say he’s old and done for. Jerry Rice , who people think is the best, played til he was 40. You know Montana and the niners had a system going there, he was good but he had great qb’s also.. So any reason to hate Randy Moss? How would you like to be him? He can clone himself to completely dominate. If he had a bigger ego or more brash nature he’d be like Deion, playing on both sides of the ball. But he’s humble and tries to get better all the time. He cares about the Vikings’ organization. He said “I’ve paid attention through the years to the Vikings…” when he came back he said that. He’s persistent and doesn’t have the short attention span some Americans do. It’s just a game and he changed the game, who was more exciting? nobody. Who was better? nobody. He gets bored sometimes? That ‘s a crime, almost. So, why the hate, dumbass?

  • Hey this is kind of of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors
or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding skills so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
