Roddy White wants Osi Umenyiora to sign with Falcons

Since he and the Giants went their separate ways, Osi Umenyiora hasn’t drummed up much interest on an open market that’s been particularly brutal to defensive ends.

But he does have his peers in his corner, urging him to put pen to paper. For proof, look no further than the following Twitter exchange between Umenyiora and Falcons receiver Roddy White.

It all started with an innocent question …

White’s not the only Falcon — past or present — who’s also on the bus.

They may soon get their wish.

Umenyiora made his first known free agent visit on Wednesday, touching down in Atlanta for a meeting with team officials. While no signing appears imminent, the Falcons are in serious need of a pass-rusher, having cut bait with veteran John Abraham. Despite being a bit long in the tooth (31-years-old), Umenyiora would suffice in the role.

If no other clubs kick his tires, Osi could very well end up teaming with White and the reigning NFC South champs.
