Steelers’ Ta’amu tweets photo of himself in car with whiskey

From the “one way to end your career” file comes the latest buffoonery from Steelers nose tackle Alameda Ta’amu.

On Sunday night, Ta’amu retweeted a photo of himself and (presumably) a friend driving while brandishing a bottle of whiskey.

That, in itself, would be a pretty bad idea. Making it worse, though, was this came just three days after Ta’amu was sentenced to 18 months probation for last year’s DUI arrest, in which he crashed into parked cars and then fled from police.

Realizing that, Ta’amu quickly deleted the tweet, and offered up an explanation.

The 22-year-old Ta’amu was cut by Pittsburgh following the arrest, but finished the season on the team’s practice squad. Considering commissioner Roger Goodell and the Steelers organization share a similar zero tolerance attitude, he’ll be lucky to avoid suspension, let alone keep his job.

As Ron White would say, you can’t fix stupid.
