Shawne Merriman to compete on ‘American Ninja Warrior’

It may be “Lights Out” for Shawne Merriman’s NFL career, but the former three-time All-Pro is looking for ways to keep himself engrossed in a competitive atmosphere.

He seems to have found his calling.

Co-hosted by former NFL defensive end Akbar Gbajabiamila, “American Ninja Warrior” is a show in which contests are put through various obstacle courses and events.

For the once freakishly-athlete Merriman — the 2005 Defensive Rookie of the Year — it should be no problem. However, he’s taking it seriously, with motivation on his mind and meticulous methods.
