Ex-Giant Carl Banks eviscerates Corey Webster on Twitter

On Friday, the Giants voided the contracts of cornerback Corey Webster and tight end Brandon Myers. And just as the news broke, Carl Banks chimed in to comment on the transactions rip Webster a new one.

In an epic Twitter rant, the former Giants linebacker annihilated Webster, accusing him of “grand larceny” for making $5 million despite playing in just four games this past season.

Banks wasn’t done there. He also stated that Webster “quit on his teammates” by sitting out each week with “mystery injuries.”

Banks currently works as a Giants radio analyst — presumably he has some direct team knowledge — so his word carries more weight than it would appear. If any of what he said about Webster is true, the soon-to-be 32-year-old corner will be hard-pressed to find a new home.

Teams don’t usually take too kindly to injury-prone players who spend more time on the trainer’s table than the field.
