Stephen Ross: NFL team will be in L.A. ‘within five years’

Last year, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said the NFL’s long-awaited return to Los Angeles is “closer than ever” to happening.

On Saturday, Dolphins owner Stephen Ross provided a more specific timeframe.

But don’t worry, Fins fans. Your team isn’t packing up and heading west.

Ross has his own work cut out for him, hoping to build the Dolphins back to respectability with stadium renovations that will help corral Super Bowl bids. As long as he continues to do so, the franchise won’t be leaving Miami.

For speculation’s sake, the Jaguars, Vikings, Rams, and Raiders have all been linked to L.A. at some point or another. And by the end of this decade, one of those clubs could be playing ball in an entirely new home.
