Khalil Mack: Thinking of sacking Peyton gets me excited

Khalil Mack wants his first interaction with Peyton Manning to be more than a casual face-to-face.

While attending this weekend’s NFLPA Rookie Premiere, Mack told NFL Network’s Alex Flanagan that the Broncos’ All-World quarterback is atop his sack wish list.

“Just thinking about it gets you a little (excited), you know what I mean?” Mack said.

Mack, the No. 5 overall pick in last month’s draft, was chosen by the Raiders largely for his ability to get to the quarterback. He totaled 28.5 sacks in four years at the University at Buffalo, including a 10.5 sack campaign in 2013 that earned him first-team All-American honors.

The 6-foot-3, 248-pound linebacker already is penciled in as a starter, but will have to wait until Week 10 for his initial crack at Manning.

Until that November meeting in the Black Hole, Mack can justify his draft status by becoming a disruptive defensive force, one that Oakland has desperately needed over the years.

Manning will have his hands full making the playoffs with that schedule. He’ll miss the playoffs and retire. Good riddance.
