Pete Carroll chides Jim Harbaugh: ‘We love beating him’

There’s nothing quite like a little June trash talk to stoke those rivalry fires.

During the Seahawks’ annual Town Hall on Wednesday, coach Pete Carroll took a jab at 49ers head man/arch nemesis Jim Harbaugh, saying he’s “a great coach and we love beating him,” per the Seattle Times.

The quote, which “ended with an applause,” came after a long-winded response by Carroll, who repeated his philosophy that each week is a “championship opportunity.”

Carroll, of course, is all too familiar with trumping Harbaugh. In the first meeting between the NFC West clubs in 2013, Seattle blew out San Fran, 29-3. The Niners evened up the regular season series, but failed to knock off the ‘Hawks in the NFC Championship game. One team went on to win the Super Bowl while the other could only watch.

Carroll has gotten the better of Harbaugh in recent memory. He knows this, and will not hesitate to remind him.
