Larry Fitzgerald’s 80-yard touchdown catch and run on Sunday was an impressive display of the 31-year-old’s vision and hustle.
But he didn’t act alone.
The Cardinals’ star receiver said he took a peak at the Jumbotron to evade defenders on his way to the end zone.
“It was nice and clear,” Fitzgerald said, per ESPN.com. “So, I was able to see where the guys were behind me and not look back.”
The long score capped a seven-catch, 160-yard performance for Fitzgerald — far and away his best game of the season. It also cemented victory for Arizona, who improved to 6-1 with the 24-20 win over the Eagles.
Don’t look now, but Fitz has returned to vintage form.
“I haven’t lost anything,” Fitzgerald said. “That’s all I’m saying. No, I haven’t lost anything.”
If the Cards are to fend off competition for the NFC West, they’ll need more splash plays on offense. Getting their eight-time Pro Bowl wideout going is a good start.
