A healthy Megatron is ready to help your fantasy football team.
In an interview on NFL Network’s NFL GameDay First, Calvin Johnson told former teammate Nate Burleson that his balky ankle is fully healed.
You don’t need Michael Fabiano to tell you what to do now.
“Put me in the lineup, man,” Johnson said, via NFL.com. “I’m healthy. I’m ready to play.”
Johnson has been sidelined since Week 5 with a high-ankle sprain, one of the trickiest injuries for skill-position players. The Lions have been cautious with their All-World receiver, holding him out through last week’s bye week.
Now all systems go, Johnson on Sunday gets an appetizing matchup against the Dolphins. He’ll square off with cornerback Brent Grimes, who will be at a severe height disadvantage (5-foot-10 vs. 6-foot-5).
In the short term, Johnson hopes to lead Detroit to their fourth-straight win. In the long term, the 29-year-old’s goals remain impressively lofty.
“I would like to go down as the greatest receiver in this game,” Johnson told Burleson. “I’m not doing all this hard work for nothing.”
