Maclin on Eagles’ rout: Raiders would’ve beaten us, too

The 0-10 Oakland Raiders, who, as of Monday, haven’t won a game in a calender year, are a representative example of failure.

They’re also a measuring stick for another team’s failure.

After the Eagles were romped by the Packers, 53-20, on Sunday, wide receiver Jeremy Maclin gave Oakland a not-so-complimentary shout out.

“We got our ass kicked,” Maclin said, via CSNPhilly.com. “It’s the National Football League man. The way we played today, it wouldn’t matter if we played Oakland, who hasn’t won a game yet — they would have beat the hell out of us too. We just didn’t play well.

“No disrespect to Green Bay. Great football team. They played great today. But the way we played today, we wouldn’t have beaten anybody.”

Maclin delivered a respectable effort at Lambeau Field, catching nine passes for 93 yards and a touchdown, but it didn’t change the outcome of a tilt that devolved to a laugher by the second quarter.

And who knows laughers better than the perpetually-defeated Raiders?
