In Week 2 against the Panthers, J.J. Watt continued doing J.J. Watt things. He — you guessed it — notched a sack for the seventh straight game, and third time this season. Ho-hum. Just another day in Watt’s domain.
Only this particular third quarter takedown counted for more. And it wasn’t (solely) because he mocked Cam Newton after the fact.
It was career sack No. 60 for the Texans’ superstar defensive end, who became the second-fastest player to reach that mark, behind only Hall of Famer Reggie White.
Watt finished the game — which Houston lost, dropping them to 0-2 — with five tackles, two passes defensed, the sack, and one helluva Newton impersonation.
