Exactly what kind of "friend" gets off the phone with Tiger and immediately calls TMZ to blab about what they just talked about? :LMAO:

I am not one for defending athletes blindly. If they eff up in public then they need to feel the pain of public scrutiny. I also enjoy TMZ and gossip mongering as much as the next red blooded american. But people need to get the hell out of Tiger Woods' bedroom. He doesn't need to explain what happened to the cops or anyone else for that matter. Anyone waiting for more than what he's already given needs to go ahead and maybe pick up a book...a hobby...something...anything.

I think his statement closed the door on any other info coming out.

Staying out of his bedroom when he drove it into a tree, then his wife bashed the hell out of it with a golf club, is a little difficult to do, lol. I don't think it gets much more press but his image will be a little skewed now.

Absolutely and don't get me wrong...I totally understand why people are interested. But it's still a domestic dispute.

What does Tiger Woods have in common with seals?

They are both beaten by Swedes with clubs

Lon (Kansa City, Mo.): I'm a transplanted 'Burgh boy living in Kansas City. My wife was pregnant with my oldest son when the Steelers drafted an undersized former QB from Georgia with their (compensatory) 3rd round round draft pick in 1998. Now, just days ago sitting here with my almost 14-year-old son watching Hines give his retirement speech...couldn't help but think how fast time flies when you're having fun. Thanks Hines for everything! We will miss your tough catches for first downs when we needed them most, your crushing blocks that had linebackers complaining about rough treatment from WRs, and above all, your smile! You're the consummate football player, pro, and thankfully, Steeler for life! Black and Gold forever!

Nick (Cleveland): As a Browns fan, my memories of Hines Ward will always be his [expletive] smile. There were so many times I wish someone on my beloved Browns could slap it off his face, but we never did. Now that he is retired, I can see myself always referring back to that smile. He was one of the greatest complete wide receivers I had the displeaure of watching bury my Browns year after year in his storied career. Glad to see him go out on a high note. Take care Hines! IMO, a sure fire Hall of Famer.

Meh, not so sure it means simpleminded and sheep-like. People like to know what causes people to do shit, especially when they're famous. Not sure what is so odd about that considering how much time most people spend watching those same people entertain. It's human nature to be curious about stuff that happens to people we either know or wish we knew.

I've never really understood that...the only people I'd be that jacked up to meet would be Prince and Outkast. I actually did meet one of the members of Outkast and he was cool folks. I really wouldn't want to meet Prince though as he comes off arrogant and I'd hate to slap the lil' mofo.

That said, i don't give a fuck about their personal lives. Do they not shit, shower and shave like the rest of us?

Just now, they are playing a voicemail on the radio of Tiger telling his mistress to hide her number.

This is the tradeoff of coming after Jordan. Technology and connectivity has made big stars even bigger, and even made a few people who shouldn't be stars into stars...but during MJ's time technology wasn't so rampant and fluid to where the press could keep a finger on stuff that would've ruined his rep. Not anymore.

So I was wrong that his statement would squash things. I agree on his request for privacy as he tries to repair the damage he created in his marriage. I do find his expectations to be a bit naive though - if you're going to screw around, and you are THAT high profile, you have to figure it's going to leak out. The transgressions of regular ole normal folks tend to leak out. If someone like Tiger is creeping, and it leaks, OF COURSE people are going to talk about it and question peculiar incidents like the accident. As humiliating as this might be for him, I think he's doing the right thing. Like what Letterman did... acknowledge, apologize, then if you want your marriage you do what you gotta do to fix it and respect the privacy of the pain and healing.

http://web.tigerwood...027740572/news/

I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.

Although I am a well-known person and have made my career as a professional athlete, I have been dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means. For the last week, my family and I have been hounded to expose intimate details of our personal lives. The stories in particular that physical violence played any role in the car accident were utterly false and malicious. Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect.

But no matter how intense curiosity about public figures can be, there is an important and deep principle at stake which is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy. I realize there are some who don't share my view on that. But for me, the virtue of privacy is one that must be protected in matters that are intimate and within one's own family. Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn't have to mean public confessions.

Whatever regrets I have about letting my family down have been shared with and felt by us alone. I have given this a lot of reflection and thought and I believe that there is a point at which I must stick to that principle even though it's difficult.

I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves. For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology.

I just don't get it. Why do these fuckers get married in the first place?? Tiger, Kobe, and the other 50% of pro athletes.

My plan would be as followed if I were a pro-athlete, date and bang everything that caught my eye for the duration of my career and then during my last couple of seasons, find a soul mate who I could settle down with and grow old with,... Kind of like the Derek Jetter plan. Maybe because I put a high value on the sanctity of marriage, but also so that these ladies can't take half your shit when you get caught bangin a cocktail waitress.
